Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist 158522
Supervised by Maxwell Trzcinski, Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Amy is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist whose personal journey and diverse life experiences have shaped her compassionate, holistic approach to therapy. An immigrant who moved from the UK to the United States at the age of 14, Amy has lived in a variety of places, including Argentina, where she volunteered with young children, Barbados, New York, San Francisco, and San Diego. These experiences have deepened her appreciation for the ways culture, relationships, and life transitions shape our sense of identity and belonging.
Amy earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from San Francisco State University and her Master’s degree in Marriage, Couples, and Family Therapy from The Chicago School in San Diego. She became a certified yoga teacher in 2019, further cultivating her interest in mindfulness, embodiment, and the connection between mind, body, and spirit.
Clinically, Amy has experience supporting individuals navigating substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges. Her approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She believes that every individual has a unique story, inherent strengths, and the capacity for meaningful growth. Amy strives to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and accepted as they are, helping them reconnect with themselves and move toward a life that feels more authentic and aligned with their values.
Outside the therapy room, Amy enjoys practicing yoga, spending time at the beach with her dog, and exploring her creativity through painting. Her appreciation for mindfulness, movement, and creative expression reflects her belief in caring for the whole person and finding balance in the midst of life’s challenges.
As Eckhart Tolle writes in The Power of Now, “Realize deeply that the present moment is all you ever have.” This philosophy resonates with Amy’s belief in the power of presence, self-awareness, and meeting ourselves with compassion as we navigate life’s changes and discover new possibilities for growth.
